What is REBT?
REBT is another type of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy that was developed by psychologist Albert Ellis.
This is an action-oriented therapy which focuses on helping patients handle irrational beliefs and discover how to manage emotions, thoughts and behaviors in a healthy and realistic way.
REBT revolves around the ABC model. A therapist will help a patient learn how to apply this model in their daily life. An important step in this process is recognizing the underlying beliefs that lead to a patients psychological distress.
